Community grants

In 2020 we provided grants totalling more than $1.7 million through our community grants programs, impacting approximately 95,214 people and their communities.

Staff Foundations

Our staff foundations in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji are charitable trusts that provide grants to local community organisations and projects advancing financial wellbeing, housing and environmental sustainability. The foundations are jointly funded by workplace giving donations and ANZ double-matching employee contributions.

ANZ Community Foundation

The ANZ Community Foundation provides grants of up to AU$30,000 to community organisations around Australia to fund projects that assist local communities to thrive. A National Advisory Board and State Committees comprising ANZ employees decide the granting rounds each year. In 2020 AU$250,000 was granted to 16 community organisations. Since 1988, over 880 grants valued at more than AU$5.6 million has been distributed to support local communities.

The 2021 grant applications open 1 March and close on 1 April 2021.

ANZ New Zealand Staff Foundation

The ANZ New Zealand Staff Foundation is a charitable trust, which provides grants of up to NZ$25,000 to community organisations throughout New Zealand to help them achieve their goals.

Applications are accepted twice a year: 15 February and 15 August.

Since inception in 2000, the ANZ New Zealand Staff Foundation has distributed nearly NZ$7 million in community grants to over 800 community  organisations and  projects in New Zealand.

ANZ Fiji Staff Foundation

The ANZ Fiji Staff Foundation is a charitable trust, which supports local charities working in remote communities, including those providing funding for emergency food supplies, farm kits, rebuild work and disaster relief, as well as programs to empower women and girls.

Since 2006, 136 grants valued at more than FJ$900,000 has been distributed to support local communities.

Seeds of Renewal

Established in 2003, the ANZ Seeds of Renewal grants program is designed to help build vibrant, sustainable rural communities and to support the ongoing prosperity of regional Australia. The program provides grants of up to AU$15,000 to community organisations to deliver projects with a demonstrable medium to long term benefit to a regional community of 15,000 people or less.

AU$250,000 was granted to 26 community organisations in 2020.

ANZ Tennis Hot Shots

As a long term supporter of tennis in Australia, ANZ established this grants program in 2018. The program provides grants of AU$10,000 to 20 tennis clubs or venues around the country through the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots community grants program.

Since 2018, approximately AUD $600,000 in grants have been made to 60 tennis clubs and venues.

Applications for 2021 are now open and close on 22 March 2021.

ANZ & Sydney Mardi Gras

The ANZ and Sydney Mardi Gras Community Grants program was established in 2018 as an extension of our partnership with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. The program provides grants of up to AUD $10,000 to not-for-profit organisations, charities and individuals to support projects that benefit the LGBTIQ+ community.

Since 2018, approximately 30 grants have been distributed, worth a total of AUD $200,000.
