Direct loan payments are an easy way to set up recurring payments to your linked ANZ loan accounts.

  • You can choose to set up and also modify a Bank Managed Payment. A Bank Managed Payment acts as the main method of payment, automatically increasing if the minimum loan payment amount increases. As long as you meet the minimum loan payment amount, you can choose to modify the amount of your Bank Managed Payment (lower it or increase it) to suit your circumstances. 
  • Alternatively, you can set up regular payments, which don't automatically update if the minimum loan payment amount increases (i.e. Customer Managed Payments).

Any existing payments you've set up will be displayed on the Direct Loan Payments page with the following details:

  • account name and number from which the payment is being made
  • payment amount
  • frequency
  • expiry
  • payment type.

The "Direct loan payments" page gives details of any direct loan payments that you have set up on the selected loan account. It allows you to add a new recurring payment, modify, or delete an existing direct loan payment.

If the minimum payment amount for your loan changes (due to interest increases), a Bank Managed Payment will automatically increase to reflect the new minimum payment. 

If you do not have a Bank Managed Payment set up and the minimum payment amount increases, there is a chance your pre-arranged payment will fall short of the minimum amount required for your loan.

The payment type indicates whether the loan payment method is managed by ANZ or by you.

  • If the field displays "Bank Managed Payment (Direct Loan Payment)" this means that you have chosen this payment method as your only directly credited method of payment for this loan. Bank Managed Payments are managed by ANZ so they will be automatically increased if your minimum amount is increased (e.g. due to an increase in interest rates).
  • If this field displays "Customer Managed Payment", then the payment is not managed by ANZ and you will need to make other payment arrangements to meet your minimum repayment requirements.

You can set any amount as the Bank Managed Payment Payment, as long as the payment amount is equal to or more than the minimum repayment amount.

No. If you want to set up direct loan payments for your ANZ Loan account via ANZ Internet Banking, it has to be done from a linked ANZ account.
