If you switch off paper statements, this means that a person who previously received paper statements for an account:

  • will not receive paper statements for that account if they have authorised access to that account in the ANZ App and/or ANZ Internet Banking; or
  • will continue to receive paper statements for that account if they do not have authorised access to that account in the ANZ App and/orANZ Internet Banking.

We suggest that before you remove any accounts from the ANZ App or ANZ Internet Banking, ensure you have reset your statement preferences to Paper and online. This way you’ll continue receiving statements by mail.

You will lose access to historical online statements if all accounts linked to the ANZ App or ANZ Internet Banking are closed. Before closing your accounts, we suggest you:

  • Save electronic copies to your computer or print statements
  • Update your account preference settings to Paper and online, which will ensure you receive any final statements in the mail

Note: There must be at least one active account linked to the ANZ App or ANZ Internet Banking to view online statements for eligible accounts.

Here are some situations when your statement preferences for an eligible account may be reset back to Paper and online from Online only:

  • Where a credit card linked to your ANZ App or ANZ Internet Banking is registered as lost or stolen
  • Where there is a change to the number of signatories on an eligible account
  • When an overdraft has been added or removed from an existing deposit account
  • For eligible accounts with multiple account holders, the statement delivery preference will change when one party has changed the statement delivery preference.

You may also receive a paper statement if there is a problem with your email address. Please double-check that it is correct. You should also ensure your inbox is not full and that it's not rejecting emails from statement@anzcommunications.anz.com

You should report your lost or stolen credit card immediately by:

Your historical account statements for transactions made using the lost/stolen card will still be available to view online via ANZ Internet Banking.

When your new credit card is issued, ensure you link the new card to ANZ Internet Banking.

Because your original card was lost or stolen, your statement preference for this account may default back to Paper and online.

Remember to update your statement preferences if you prefer to receive statements Online only.

Troubleshooting

If your account is eligible for online statements and you see the error "This account is not eligible to receive online statements" it’s likely due to one of the following reasons:

  • You’re not the primary cardholder of the credit card
  • You’re not a signatory on the account
  • A system error occurred and we were unable to determine eligibility at the time (try again sometime later).

If you can see a list of your online statements but you're having problems opening them:

  • Ensure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed
  • You'll also need to have your pop-up blockers disabled and JavaScript enabled to correctly open your PDF online statements in a new window or tab.
  • If you want to download the statement to your desktop, you'll need to select Download from the View statements function and then again when viewing the statement.

If the error indicates the file is corrupt, please try upgrading your version of Adobe Reader.

As we are in the process of digitising our notices, some notices may not yet be displayed in the ANZ App or ANZ Internet Banking. There are also some notice types that will continue to be provided by mail only. When new notices types are digitised, they will be available to view in the ANZ App or ANZ Internet Banking by following the steps above.

Some notices will continue to be provided by mail.
