We offer convenient international services that allow you to transfer funds overseas, purchase international bank drafts, traveller’s cheques and foreign currency. You can also view foreign exchange rates.

You can transfer funds overseas via "International Services" in the "Payments" menu.

  • You need to have registered for Pay Anyone 
  • Your daily limit will apply. ANZ Internet Banking for Business customers please note, the maximum amount that can be transferred overseas is $150,000 even if the daily limit amount assigned to your profile is higher than this.

You can use ANZ Internet Banking for the following international functions:

  • Transfer funds overseas: transfer funds to overseas accounts in any of the available currencies.
  • Purchase an international draft: purchase a draft (foreign currency cheque) by nominating the payee for the draft and the currency.
  • Order foreign  cash/travellers cheques: choose from the available currencies.
  • Purchase ANZ Travel Card: order your ANZ Travel Card and load it with up to 10 currencies.
  • Foreign exchange rates:rates are updated daily.
  • Manage international payees: add, delete and edit payees on your international payee list.
  • Change International Services registration: Change your daily limit for Pay Anyone and International Services.
  • Remove access to International Services: Submit a request to remove access to International Services.

Yes. Your daily Pay Anyone limit will apply for both Pay Anyone and international transactions jointly. ANZ Internet Banking for Business customers please note, the maximum amount that can be transferred overseas is $150,000 even if the daily limit amount assigned to your profile is higher than this.

There are different limits available to you depending on the type of accounts you have.

  • If you are a personal customer using ANZ Internet Banking your daily limit range is $1,000 , $5,000 and $10,000 (or up to $25,000 if registered for ANZ Shield)
  • If you are a business customer using ANZ Internet Banking your daily limit range is $5,000, $10,000, $15,000  and $25,000 (or up to $50,000 if registered for ANZ Shield)
  • If you are an eligible ANZ Internet Banking for Business user, a higher daily limit up to $1,000,000 can apply.

The cost for international payments will vary depending on the type of payment you are requesting:

Discounts are not available through ANZ Internet Banking.

  • If you are entitled to a travel fund fee concession please contact your local ANZ branch to place your order.

Depending on the type of transfers you have requested, international transfers may take up to four bank business days to be processed.

  • International money transfers (transfer funds overseas): are processed as immediate payments and your account is debited immediately. It may however, take two business days to be processed depending on when the transfer was requested. Transfers submitted before 6.00pm Melbourne time on a bank business day will be processed on the same day but if submitted after 6.00pm Melbourne time or on weekends or public holidays, it will be processed on the next bank business day. The time that it takes for the beneficiary's account to be credited will depend on the policy and systems of the beneficiary's bank. You will be notified via SecureMail once your request is processed by the ANZ International Services team.
  • International drafts: it may take two business days to be processed depending on when the transfer was requested. For payments submitted before 6.00pm Melbourne time on a bank business day, payments are processed immediately. If submitted after 6.00pm Melbourne time or on weekends or public holidays, it will be processed on the next bank business day. Once the order is processed, you should receive the draft within three to five bank business days in your mailing address.
  • Travellers cheque and/or foreign cash: will take at least 4 bank business days to be processed. You may specify a different day but it needs to be at least four bank business days in advance. These need to be collected from your nominated ANZ branch.

No. International payments cannot be future dated nor can they be set up as a recurring transfer. All international payments are processed as immediate payments or transfers.

  • This is because of fluctuating foreign exchange rates.

Yes. You need to be registered for Pay Anyone and have a daily Pay Anyone limit before you can register for International Services.

No. You must be registered for Pay Anyone before you can apply for International Services.

To view foreign exchange rates applicable to international money transfers and international drafts, go to the "Payments" menu. Select "International Services" then select "Foreign exchange rates/currencies".

No. International money transfers can be sent to specified countries only. To view the list of countries where you can send an international transfer:

  • Go to the "Payments" menu.
  • Select "International Services".
  • Select "Transfer funds overseas".
  • Select an account to make a transfer from.
  • Select "Add payee"
  • You can view and select the available countries from those shown in "Destination country".
  • If you wish to transfer funds to a country not shown on this list, please visit your nearest ANZ branch.

When you enter an amount in the field next to "Transfer amount” or an amount in "AUD", select "Get rate". the “Total” is the sum of the “Transfer Amount” and “Transfer fee”. When foreign currency is used, the Amount is the Australian dollar equivalent of the Transfer amount. The amount is automatically calculated by ANZ Internet Banking.

Whenever you confirm a payment/transfer you'll see a lodgement number and a receipt number. The receipt number confirms that the payment has been submitted successfully.

For scheduled payments, you can check the status and the receipt number via "View past Payments/Transfers" from the "Payments" menu. For unsuccessful payments, the status will show as failed. You can also check the details of the payment to find the reason the payment failed.

  • The time that it takes for a transfer to be processed to your account will depend on the transfer type. Check your Electronic Banking Conditions of Use for details.
  • The time that it takes for the payee's account to be credited will depend on the policy and systems of the payee's bank.
  • If your enquiry relates to a transfer with a "Status unknown" message, please contact the ANZ Internet Banking Helpdesk on 13 33 50 (International callers: +61 3 9683 8833) 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • All International payments/transfers requested after 6.00pm Melbourne time or on weekends or a public holiday for the same day transfer are debited immediately but are processed on the following bank business day.
  • Transfers from an ANZ Credit Card will be treated as a cash advance, a fee may be charged and interest will accrue accordingly.
