Transfer credit card balance
Do you have outstanding balances on non-ANZ credit, charge or store card accounts?
- You can easily transfer these balances over to your ANZ Credit Card.
- It's a handy way to pay an outstanding balance from your ANZ Credit Card account.
How do I transfer my credit card balance?
To transfer a credit card balance to your ANZ Credit Card:
Go to the Home page, which is the first page you see when you log on to ANZ Internet Banking.
Select your credit card account.
Then select the "Credit card balance transfer" link from the Account actions and follow the steps below.

Before transferring your credit card balance
You can transfer the balance of your credit card with another bank or institution to your ANZ Credit Card provided that the other bank or institution allows its customers to use BPAY®.
Please ensure the details you provide are correct, as we do not verify your details.
Step 1 - Read and accept the terms and conditions
Click "I Accept" to acknowledge that you have read and accept the terms and conditions.
Step 2 - Fill in the from account details
From: select the bank or institution you wish to transfer your balance from, using the drop down list.
The biller code will automatically populate.
Reference number: this is your account number or biller reference. It will usually be found near the BPAY® logo on your statement.
Account name: enter the account name as it appears on your other bank or institution credit card.
My institution is not listed
If your bank or institution is not listed in the drop down list:
Click on the "Balance Transfer Application form" link (located at the bottom of the page).
Download, fill in and return the form to the postal address outlined in the form.
You will need to have Adobe Reader installed on your computer to view the PDF correctly.
Step 3 - Fill in the transfer details
To: select the credit card you would like to transfer the balance to, using the drop down list.
All of your linked ANZ Credit Card accounts will be listed here.
Amount: enter the amount you wish to transfer, using a decimal point, if applicable.
Click "Continue".
Step 4 - Review your information
Review all your information to ensure it is correct. If information is incorrect it may result in an unsuccessful transfer or payment to an unintended account.
If you notice mistakes click "Back" and re-enter the correct details following steps 1-3.
Step 5 - Confirm your transfer
When you are happy with the information entered click "Confirm".
A message will display advising that your card transfer will be treated as a cash advance.
Click "Ok" to continue with the transfer.
Step 6 - View your lodgement receipt
Your lodgement receipt is displayed to confirm that your transaction has been submitted successfully.
This does not mean the transaction will be processed successfully as that is dependent on the details you have entered being accurate.
Please make a note of the receipt number and lodgement number for your own records.
Important notes
Balance transfers to your credit card are processed as a cash advance and interest will accrue accordingly.
You must ensure the reference is correct or your payment may be unsuccessful or may be paid to an unintended account.
Credit card balance transfers are processed overnight by us on bank business days. When the other bank or institution's account will be credited will depend on the policy and systems of the other bank or institution's bank.
Immediate bill payments submitted before 6.00pm (AEST) on a bank business day are processed on that day, but if submitted after 6.00pm (AEST), on weekends or public holidays are processed on the next bank business day.
You cannot delete or cancel an immediate transfer or a transfer to be processed today.
