Types of Complimentary Insurances available for eligible ANZ credit cardholders

For ANZ Platinum and Black credit cards:

The eligible ANZ Platinum and Black credit cards are as follows:

Insurance update effective 27 April 2022

Effective 27 April 2022, changes to the complimentary credit card insurances came into effect.

  • For ANZ Platinum and Black credit card customers, the Premium Insurances – Insurance Policy Information booklet was replaced with a new booklet,disclaimercalled ANZ Platinum and Black Personal Credit Cards Complimentary Insurance booklet. View the summary of the changes here
  • For ANZ First credit card customers, the ANZ Credit Cards Insurances Features booklet was replaced with a new booklet, called ANZ First Credit Card Complimentary Insurance booklet.disclaimerView the summary of the changes here.

 

If an insurable event occurred before 27 April 2022, for which you intend to make a claim and where the eligibility criteria are met, the claim will be considered against the policy wording in place as at the date of the insurance event.disclaimer

  • For Premium and Black credit card customers, the relevant policy booklet is the Premium Cards – Insurance Policy Information booklet with an effective date of 1 March 2020.
  • For ANZ First credit card customers, the relevant policy booklet is the ANZ Credit Cards Insurance Features booklet with an effective date of 1 March 2020.

The ANZ Platinum and Black Personal Credit Cards Complimentary Insurance Booklet contains a pandemic/epidemic exclusion which operates unless you or your travel companion are positively diagnosed with an epidemic/pandemic sickness such as Covid-19 and cover is expressly included in the ANZ Platinum and Black Personal Credit Cards Complimentary Insurance Booklet.

If, during the period of cover available, you (including your spouse and/or dependants who are eligible for cover) are positively diagnosed as suffering a sickness recognised as an epidemic or pandemic, such as COVID-19, cover may be available to you under the following sections of our International and Domestic Travel Insurance policies:

If your travel companion is positively diagnosed as suffering a sickness recognised as an epidemic or pandemic, such as COVID-19, which impacts your journey, cover may be available to you under the following sections of our International and Domestic Travel Insurance policies:

What if the destination I'm travelling to requires proof of travel insurance?

You can obtain written confirmation of your eligibility for cover for your overseas journey by calling Allianz Global Assistance on 1300 135 271, 9am to 5pm AEST, Monday to Friday, except public holidays.

Complimentary insurance when you traveldisclaimer

International Travel Insurancedisclaimer

International Travel Insurance can cover you for up to a period of 6 consecutive months, except for cancellation benefits, which will cover you from the date you activate your cover in accordance with the eligibility criteria. This is for a range of contingencies including:

  • overseas emergency medical and emergency dental expenses
  • cancellation and additional expenses
  • loss or damage of luggage and travel documents
  • accidental death and permanent disability
  • loss of income
  • personal liability

Domestic Travel Insurancedisclaimer

Domestic Travel Insurance may cover your interstate and intrastate journeys (including journeys to Australian territories), with a return domestic flight of up to 28 days in length. If your trip is longer than 28 days, the first 28 days of the trip are covered.

The cover available includes:

  • Cancellation

  • Luggage
  • Luggage Delay

Rental Vehicle Excess in Australia Insurance when you rent a car in Australiadisclaimer

The Rental Vehicle Excess in Australia Insurance may cover you when you hire a car in Australia if the entire payment for the rental vehicle is charged to your ANZ Black or Platinum credit card account.  In the event that the rental vehicle is damaged or stolen when in your custody, the Rental Vehicle Excess in Australia Insurance will pay your rental excess up to a maximum total limit of $5,000, or the maximum total limit of up to the amount specified in your rental vehicle agreement; whichever is the lesser provided you are a nominated driver on the rental agreement.

Purchase Protection Insurancedisclaimer

Purchase Protection Insurance could cover you against permanent loss, theft or accidental damage for most personal items you purchase on your ANZ Platinum and ANZ Black credit card account for 90 consecutive days from the date of purchase.

Extended Warranty Insurancedisclaimer

You could enjoy Extended Warranty Insurance on your personal and household purchases, at no extra cost. This is designed to cover items with a manufacturer’s unique identification serial number purchased with your ANZ Black or ANZ Platinum credit card account for up to 12 months after the original manufacturer’s Australian warranty expires.

How to make a claim

Please pick any of the following options to make a claim to the Allianz Global Assistance/ANZ Travel team:

  • Lodge your travel claim online or obtain a claim form for other complimentary covers at www.claimmanager.com.au/anz 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Call 1300 135 271, 9am to 5pm AEST, Monday to Friday (except public holidays). Please note that calls from mobiles, public telephones or hotel rooms may attract additional charges.
  • Email ANZTravelTeam@allianz-assistance.com.au
  • Post your completed claim form to Allianz Global Assistance, Locked Bag 3014, Toowong DC, QLD 4066

Complimentary insurance covers: AWP Australia Pty Ltd ABN 52 097 227 177 AFSL 245631(trading as Allianz Global Assistance) under a binder from the insurer, Allianz Australia Insurance Limited ABN 15 000 122 850 AFSL 234708 has issued a group policy to Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) ABN 11 005 357 522 AFSL and Australian credit licence 234527 which allows eligible ANZ account holders and cardholders to claim under the group policy as a third party beneficiary by reason of the statutory operation of Section 48 of the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 (Cth).  The eligibility criteria, terms, conditions, limits and exclusions of the group policy are set out in the ANZ Platinum and Black Credit Card Complimentary Insurance booklet (PDF 696kB) which may be amended from time to time. An excess may be deducted from any benefit paid. ANZ does not guarantee this insurance.
