Summary of the changes

Effective 1 December 2020, the following air travel benefits associated with the ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures credit card account (previously available per account year where eligibility criteria had been met) are no longer available as a feature of the account:

  • One complimentary Virgin Australia domestic return flight
  • Two complimentary Virgin Australia domestic lounge passes

In recognition of the changes, the annual account fee for the ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures credit card has been reduced from $170 to $65. The $55 annual Rewards Program Services fee will still apply, therefore the total annual account fee will be $120.disclaimer

These changes became effective on 1 December 2020. For existing eligible ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures credit card account holders, the last date to book your complimentary flight and lounge passes was by 8pm on 11 December 2020.

ANZ continues to review our products and as a result, we're making changes to the ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures credit card account benefits to reflect those benefits that may be most relevant to many of our customers.

No, ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures credit card account holders will still be able to enjoy complimentary insurances, concierge services and a flexible rewards program.

ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures account holders also have access to no ANZ overseas transaction fee on their purchases, for both spending overseas and online purchases from overseas merchants.

There are no changes to when your annual fee will be charged. From 1 December 2020, the next time your annual fee is due, the lower annual fee will automatically be applied and this will be reflected on your statement.

Booking Complimentary Flight & Lounge Passes

The date to book complimentary flight bookings and/or lounge pass requests has now passed. All bookings must have been made on or before 8pm 11 December 2020.

Yes, you may use your travel credit to rebook your complimentary flight that is of equal or less value than your travel credit. If your new booking results in a lower fare being applicable, then any residual travel credit amounts are forfeited. If your new booking value is higher than the original booking then you will need to pay any fare and tax differences.

Bookings are subject to seat availability and Virgin Australia’s change and cancellation policy.

Your ANZ Rewards points can be redeemed for a range of domestic travel bookings with various providers, subject to availability and any prevailing legal and/or travel restrictions. ANZ Reward Points currently cannot be redeemed for Velocity Frequent Flyer points.

Complimentary Lounge passes that expired between 24 March 2020 and 30 November 2020 have had their expiry date extended by Virgin Australia for 12 months. For example: if your lounge pass was due to expire on 30 October 2020 it will still be accepted at the lounge until 31 October 2021. The expiry date applicable to your pass can be found on the back of your lounge pass. Lounge passes can’t be replaced if they are lost, stolen or damaged.

Important Notice: some Virgin Australia Lounges are currently closed, and Virgin Australia is continuing to assess their re-opening as travel restrictions ease. Please note, due to social distancing requirements, seating capacity within Virgin Australia Lounges may be limited. For ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures, a Total Annual Fee of $120 applies which includes a $65 Annual Account Fee and a $55 Rewards Program Services Fee. For additional cardholders an Additional Cardholder Fee of $10 and Rewards Program Services Fee of $55 will apply per additional cardholder on the account. The Total Annual Fee information displayed on this page applies to new customers only.
