What are Easy Read Guides?

At ANZ, our Easy Read Guides are created to make banking more accessible for everyone.

Easy Read Guides are designed to make important information clear and simple. They help people who have low English literacy or find reading and understanding written content difficult.

Easy Read follows specific guidelines using short sentences, everyday words, and supportive images to explain key ideas clearly and effectively.

Each guide is developed to:

  • Focus on one idea per sentence
  • Use basic words and simple grammar
  • Include subheadings, bullet points and plenty of white space
  • Use clear fonts, layouts and design
  • Feature images that support and explain the text

These features help make our banking information easier for more people to understand and use confidently.

Why Easy Read?

We know that everyone learns differently. Easy Read helps make information more accessible for people with:

  • Low literacy skills
  • English as a second language
  • Cognitive or learning disabilities
