If you're new to ANZ, we'll need to check your identity before we can activate your new account. You can do this quickly and securely with our online ID check.
You should have received an online ID check reference number by SMS or email – make sure you have this handy before you begin. If you don't have your reference number, contact us.
When you apply for an ANZ deposit account, you can complete your identification check online (if you're eligible to do so), using your computer or smartphone.
We’ll confirm that your information matches the records of our registered external agencies.

Sometimes we can’t match your information with our registered external agencies. This could be because you've recently changed address, or because our external agencies don't have enough information.
Don’t worry though, our branch staff can help you complete your ID check.
