Nine-month intensive & one-day clinics

Every year businesses take part in a one-day ANZ Business Growth Clinic run by the Australia Centre for Business Growth and from this group, 10 ANZ business customers each year are invited to participate in a nine-month intensive program.

The one-day clinic

The one-day clinic is a single day program where the CEO, MD or other executive meets with Professor Jana Matthews, from the Australian Centre for Business Growth and a Company Expert to identify company ‘growth stoppers’ and develop an action plan for growth. Prior to meeting, companies complete online diagnostic tools and surveys to provide the experts with in-depth company background.

The purpose of the clinic is to:

  • Review the results of the diagnostics and information provided
  • Identify growth stoppers and blockages
  • Discuss recommendations and changed required (in leadership, systems, processes, and procedures)
  • Teach and learn new knowledge and skills essential to take the company to the next level
  • Work together to develop an Action Plan to address the problems identified, and a timeline for implementation.

Register for a growth clinic through the University of SA (Uni SA). ANZ also provides places each year at these clinics for selected customers. Customers can talk to their banker about being selected for a clinic.

Completing an ANZ or public clinic through Uni SA is a prerequisite to attend the full nine-month growth program.

The intensive program

The intensive program is delivered by The Centre for Business Growth, University of SA with global growth expert Dr Jana Matthews.

The program includes one-day clinics, three growth modules delivered over nine months, face-to-face mentoring and coaching. Held in major capital cities, the program is aimed at CEOs of companies with more than $5 million in annual sales.

Three executives from each company are expected to attend for the duration of the program.

In 2017, the program won an Excellence in Practice ‘Organisational Development’ from the EFMD, an international, not-for-profit, membership organisation of business schools and corporations, based in Belgium.
