How do I close my accounts?

You need ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts to use the ANZ Plus app, so closing these accounts might mean saying goodbye.

If you want to close your individual accounts, we’ll be sorry to see you go. But, if you’re ready to move on, you can send us a message and we’ll help guide you through the process.   

Your ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts are connected, so you can’t close one without the other.

You also need to hang on to your individual ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts if you’d like to keep your joint accounts open. So, if you choose to close your individual accounts, we’ll need to close your joint accounts as well.

Before you get in touch, there are 3 things you can do to help speed up your request.

1. Return the balance of your ANZ Plus and ANZ Save accounts to $0.00.
2. Check there aren’t any pending transactions or uncleared funds.
3. Redirect or cancel any direct debits or linked PayTo subscriptions.

You may also need to have your new account details handy so we can send you any unpaid interest you've accrued on your savings.
