How do I close an account?
If you don't want your ANZ Plus Everyday or ANZ Plus Growth Saver accounts anymore, or if you'd like to close another account you've opened, please follow the steps below before sending us a message in the ANZ Plus app.
Things to keep in mind
- To use the ANZ Plus app, you'll need to hold at least one ANZ Plus account (including ANZ Plus Home Loan). If you choose to close all of your ANZ Plus accounts, it might mean saying goodbye to ANZ Plus.
- To close an account, you'll need to return the balance to $0.00, which means if you're closing an ANZ Plus Growth Saver account you won't earn bonus interest on it that month.
- If you're using your ANZ Plus Everyday account to offset or repay an ANZ Plus Home Loan, you'll need to de-link it in the app and remember to make sure you're set up to cover your repayments moving forwards.
- If you're planning to use the ANZ Plus Growth Saver account on its own, please keep in mind it has limited payment capabilities.
Closing an account
To close an account (or multiple accounts) you can send us a message in the ANZ Plus app, but before you do please:
- Return the balance of the account/s to $0.00.
- Check there aren’t any pending transactions.
- Redirect or cancel any direct debits or linked PayTo subscriptions.
- If you're closing an account with ANZ Plus that's being used to offset your ANZ Plus Home Loan, de-link it in the Loans tab in the ANZ Plus app.
If you'll still have an account with ANZ, any unpaid interest you've accrued on your savings may be redirected to one of those accounts.

If you're ready to move on, please follow the steps above and notify the Coach of all the accounts you'd like to close.
You may also need to have other account details handy so we can send you any unpaid interest you've accrued on your savings.
