What is offset?

What is Offset?

Offset is a home loan feature that may reduce the amount of interest payable on the loan by using the balance of a linked account to reduce the amount of interest charged.

Your loan repayment amount will remain the same, but with offset there could be a little more money going towards your loan balance. This may get you a little closer to paying off your loan sooner.

ANZ Plus offers a flexible offset, so you can turn on offset and link your existing ANZ Plus Everyday account for a monthly fee of $10.

Things to consider

  • The monthly offset fee is non-refundable. This means, it won’t be refunded if offset is turned off before the end of your billing period.
  • The benefits of offset should be weighed against the monthly fee and the interest you might earn if those funds were held in an interest-earning account instead.
  • You can use an eligible individual transaction account or an eligible joint account to offset your loan.
