How do card controls work?

How do card controls work?

You can use card controls to manage the way you spend using your ANZ Plus Visa Debit card or digital wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay™, Samsung Pay™ or Garmin Pay™).

To adjust your card controls in the app:

  1. Go to the Card tab.
  2. Tap on Controls.

Changes to your card controls may take up to 15 minutes to take effect.

Contactless Payments

Toggle on and off the ability to make Tap and Pay payments using your card or digital wallet. When toggled off, you will need to insert or swipe your card at smart ATMs and merchant terminals (where available).

ATM Withdrawals

Choose whether you'd like to enable or disable cash withdrawals from ATMs with your card.

Online Transactions

Stop your ANZ Plus Visa Debit card being used for online transactions.

Overseas Transactions (In-Store)

Prevent overseas in-person transactions using your card or digital wallet. This will not prevent online transactions that are processed overseas using your card details.

Gambling Block

Add a gambling block to prevent your card or digital wallet from being used for gambling transactions. This may not block all gambling transactions. For more information, please check out our FAQ 'How do I add a gambling block?'.

Lock Card

Temporarily lock your card while you look for it. To lock your card, go to the Card tab and tap on Lock. This will only apply to your physical card and won't prevent transactions with your digital wallet.

Joint Accounts

If you have joint accounts, you and your plus one can each customise your card controls individually to suit your needs.

So, any controls you apply to your Joint ANZ Plus card will only affect your card – your plus one can set their own card controls in their app.

Just remember to swipe across to your Joint Debit card before tapping on Controls.
