ANZ branch in Chinchilla officially reopens

2026-05-27 00:00

ANZ has today reopened the doors to its Chinchilla branch, which will now operate five days a week within the Western Downs community.

Customers and community members were welcomed into the refreshed branch today, reflecting ANZ’s commitment to supporting regional Queensland.

The reopening is part of a broader $20 million investment in branches across parts of Queensland over the next 18 months, including major refurbishments and an expanded presence on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.

ANZ General Manager Branch Network Queensland, Jackie Auf der Maur, said the decision to reopen the Chinchilla branch would significantly benefit customers.

“We know many of our customers value high-quality, face-to-face service. By reopening ANZ’s Chinchilla branch we’re expanding our capability to support families, farmers, small businesses and the region’s industries that rely on local banking expertise.

“We want our customers to know that we are here for them, and we are ready to help support their financial needs and goals – now and into the future,” Ms Auf der Maur said.

Earlier this year, ANZ announced it would be welcoming customers back to the Chinchilla branch in the second half of 2026, before fast-tracking the opening to May.

“At ANZ, we are committed to putting our customers first, and investing in our branch network is crucial to ensuring we are able to continue to do just that,” continued Ms Auf der Maur.

“Upgraded and refreshed spaces ensure our bankers have the tools they need to deliver their best work, which in turn, benefits every person that walks into our branches.

“It also makes sense to be investing in Queensland right now – a state which continues to punch above its weight and show strong economic momentum. From major infrastructure projects and the upcoming Olympics, we’re proud to be building on our footprint across this great state,” concluded Ms Auf der Maur.

Located in the heart of the Western Downs region, Chinchilla plays a crucial role in Queensland’s agricultural, energy and small‑business sectors.

The ANZ Chinchilla branch will give customers access to in-person banking for everyday and complex transactions, financial wellbeing support, and advice from ANZ’s local experts.
