Stuart Sayers appointed Managing Director E*TRADE

ANZ today announced the appointment of Stuart Sayers to the role of Managing Director, E*TRADE Australia reporting to Geoff Cohen, ANZ Managing Director, Investments and Insurance. 

Mr Sayers is currently ANZ Head of Strategy, Group Strategic Development, having joined ANZ in September 2006 from McKinsey and Company in London where he was Associate Principal. He holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from Sydney University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. 

Mr Sayers’ appointment follows the appointment of John Daley as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the Grattan Institute, a new national public policy institute being established in Melbourne with an endowment from the Federal and Victorian State Governments, and support from the University of Melbourne, and major corporations. 

Commenting on Mr Sayers’ appointment, Mr Cohen said: “Stuart has a breadth of experience in strategic planning spanning the wealth, retail and institutional arenas and is the ideal candidate to build on the investment we have made in the E*TRADE Australia business since our acquisition 18 months ago.” 

Mr Sayers will begin his new role on 1 January 2009.
