Having met with the Acting Reserve Bank Governor, customers and ANZ staff, Ms Stubbings says she is optimistic about the country’s future.
“ANZ has been in Tonga for almost 30 years and it is one of our core Pacific markets,” Ms Stubbings said.
“It’s a breathtaking country with unique commercial, investment and economic opportunities.
“Despite the challenges that Mother Nature has thrown at Tonga, people are positive and there is so much opportunity here.
“I had a number of really good conversations about the post COVID recovery, the importance of remittances and the role that ANZ and our people play in Tonga.
“I’m looking forward to returning and seeing the ways Tonga will capture the post COVID-19 opportunities to create balanced economic growth and social development,” Ms Stubbings said.
