Making tax time, less taxing

When tax time comes around each year, you may need to lodge an Australian tax return.  To make things easier, we've gathered some useful information and tips to help you get tax ready.

Get the statements you need online

There may be a number reasons you might need to access your account statements at tax time, such as records for an investment property or you might have tax-deductable expenses related to your work. 

You can do it yourself online, using the ANZ App or ANZ Internet Banking. View your latest statement or one from up to seven years ago. You can save them, email them or print them if you'd prefer a hard copy.  We'll show you how.

How to get your statement

View your interest and charges

Keeping track of your interest and charges on your eligible accounts is easy with ANZ Internet Banking. You can view interest received, interest paid, government charges and bank fees.

How to view a specific account

From your ANZ Internet Banking home page:

  1. Select the relevant account from your list
  2. Select the Details tab
  3. Expand the Interest and charges section by clicking on the arrow to the right.

How to view all of your eligible accounts

From your ANZ Internet Banking home page:

  1. Go to the Settings menu
  2. Under Account Preferences, select View interest and charges summary.

What interest and charges you'll see online

You can view the following information for the current financial year and previous financial yearsdisclaimer:

  • Total interest paid - interest debited from your account(s)
  • Total interest received - interest credited to your account(s)
  • Government charges and bank fees - debited from your account(s).

See what you've spent by category and merchant

The ANZ App automatically sorts your transactions by merchant or category so that you can see valuable insights into your spending – like just how much you spend on stationery each month. Give it a try.

Get your spend summary in three simple steps:

  1. Log in to the ANZ App
  2. Choose an account
  3. Tap View your Spend Summary

If you haven't downloaded the ANZ App, we can help you get started. You can use the ANZ App on your mobile phone or iPad to see more information about your spending and much more. You’ll need your Customer Registration Number (CRN) and Internet Banking password to set up the ANZ App for the first time.
