Register for Pay Anyone

Pay Anyone is an easy way to transfer money from your account to someone else's account. You can transfer to any Australian Financial Institution (bank, building society, credit union). All you need is the BSB number and account number of the recipient.

How do I register for Pay Anyone?

In order to use Pay Anyone you must first register for the service.

Step 1 - Navigate to "Pay Anyone" access

  • Go to the "Payments" menu
  • Select "Pay Anyone Access"

Step 2 - Set up your daily limit and "Submit" your request

  • The daily limit is the maximum amount you can transfer per day for Pay Anyone, international services, the purchase of bank cheques and donations to charity through ANZ Internet Banking
  • The daily limits for personal customers range from $1,000 to $10,000 (or up to $25,000 if registered for ANZ Shield)
  • Business customers using ANZ Internet Banking can apply for $5,000 to $25,000 (or up to $50,000 if registered for ANZ Shield) while ANZ Internet Banking for Business customers can apply for up to $1,000,000
  • Only the limits available to you will be displayed
  • Please note: The $1,000,000 limit requires higher authentication by ANZ and you may be contacted for further information to verify payment details.
  • If this information cannot be verified, payments may be cancelled.

Step 3 - Enter your SMS one-time passcode or enter your Shield Code or Security Device Code

  • You may be asked to enter a SMS OTP or a Shield Code or Security Device Code to help us verify your identity when registering for Pay Anyone.
  • Enter your SMS OTP or enter your Shield Code or Security Device Code and ‘Submit’ button to proceed with your request.

Step 4 - Application Successful

  • If you entered your SMS OTP or Shield Code or Security Device Code correctly you will receive an application successful message.

Yes. You need to register for the Pay Anyone facility online and activate your daily limit before you can start transferring money to any Australian Financial Institution (bank, building society, credit union).

There is no fee/charge for using Pay Anyone. However, if you have used all of your monthly free withdrawals for your account, normal excess transaction fees and government charges may apply.

  • Go to the 'Profile' menu.
  • Select the 'Change my Pay Anyone limit' in "Manage billers and payees" section
  • Select 'Remove Pay Anyone access'
  • You can reinstate Pay Anyone access at any time in the future if you need to.
  • Remember if you remove your access to Pay Anyone all of your payee details will also be removed.

There are different daily limits available to you depending on the type of accounts you have. You need to firstly request a limit and activate it before you start making payments. Only the limits available to you will be displayed.

If you're not registered for ANZ Shield:

  • Customers with personal accounts may request daily limits of $1,000, $5,000 or $10,000. If you request $1,000, it will be activated immediately and you can start making payment on the same day.
  • Customers with business accounts may request daily limits of $5,000, $10,000, $15,000 or $25,000.
  • If you are an ANZ Internet Banking for Business customer you may request a daily limit of up to $1,000,000.

Please note: The $1,000,000 limit requires higher authentication by ANZ and you may be contacted for further information to verify payment details. If this information cannot be verified, payments may be cancelled

If you're registered for ANZ Shield:

In addition to the daily limits listed above,

  • Customers with personal accounts can get instant access to higher daily Pay Anyone limits of $15,000 or $25,000; and
  • Customers with business accounts can get instant access to a higher daily Pay Anyone limit of $50,000.

To support your ANZ Internet Banking for Business $1,000,000 Pay Anyone Limit, additional authentication is required for certain transactions.

Please note:

  • ANZ may contact you to verify the details of certain payments using this limit. It is important to ensure you confirm transaction details with us from your source of truth (i.e. an invoice) to prevent sophisticated fraud threats. 
  • ANZ recommends that all third party transactions of $500,000 and above are authorised prior to 4.00pm Melbourne time to ensure we can contact you to verify payment details when required. If we are unable to contact you to verify transaction information, payments may be cancelled.

The daily limit applies only to Pay Anyone, purchase of bank cheques online, donations to charity and international transfers via ANZ Internet Banking.

No. Pay Anyone allows you to transfer funds to any Australian financial institution (bank, building society, credit union). You need to register for international services along with Pay Anyone to be able to transfer funds overseas.

To increase your Pay Anyone limit go to Change my Pay Anyone limit from the Profile menu. Select your new limit and choose Change my limit. Only the limits available to you will be displayed.

You may be asked to enter a SMS OTP or Shield Code or Security Device Code to help us verify your identity when registering for Pay Anyone. Refer to Step 3 above for additional details.

For ANZ Internet Banking for Business

You can increase your limit from the "Change my Pay Anyone limit " page and it is active and instantly available for use.
