Investment accounts

After logging on to ANZ Internet Banking all of your linked accounts will display on the home page.

  • Select your online investment account to view transactions and access various options to help you manage the account.

How do I manage my investment accounts?

You can also select the "Set up regular deposits" link to set up regular transfers to your online investment account. This is done using our transfer between my accounts facility.

If your ANZ Online Investment Account is not yet linked to your ANZ Internet Banking you can request it to be linked in one of three ways:

  • Use the link my accounts function on ANZ Internet Banking - this will take 24-48 hours.
  • Contact the ANZ Internet Banking team on 13 33 50 (International callers: +61 3 9683 8833) 24 hours a day, seven days a week - this will be immediate.
  • Visit your nearest ANZ branch - this will be immediate.

Current balance: This is your estimated account balance and is not a precise reflection of the current value of your investment.

  • ANZ updates your balance daily, based on the previous trading day.
  • It does not include any accrued management fees owed to ANZ that have not yet been deducted from your investment.

Available funds: This is an estimate of your current redemption value based on the previous trading day.

  • You can request to withdraw up to the amount shown via ANZ Internet Banking.
  • However, the current redemption value will only be determined at such a time as when you choose to withdraw and subject to the prevailing circumstances on that trading day.
  • It does not include any accrued management fees owed to ANZ that have not yet been deducted from your investment.

To open an ANZ Online Investment Account, you must:

  • be 18 years of age or older
  • be a permanent Australian resident
  • hold an eligible transaction or savings account with ANZ and have access to ANZ Internet Banking
  • provide an opening deposit of $1,000 from your existing ANZ transaction or savings account.
  • Simply log on to ANZ Internet Banking and select "Investments" from the "Apply for" menu to fill out the application, which should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.

Yes. As part of the account opening process for the ANZ Online Investment Account, you must nominate a standard ANZ cheque or savings account from which to provide your opening deposit and to which all future withdrawals from your investment will be deposited.

You can open an individual or joint account.

  • At present, the ANZ Online Investment Account cannot be opened in a company name or in the name of a trust.
  • Withdrawal requests made prior to 12.45pm (AEST) on a trading day will generally result in your funds being available in your nominated ANZ account the following trading day.
  • Withdrawal requests made after 12.45pm (AEST) or at any time on a day when the share market is not open for trading will generally result in funds being available in your nominated ANZ account the day after the next trading day.

There are very few restrictions on how much, or how often, you can deposit or withdraw from the ANZ Online Investment Account.

  • When opening an ANZ Online Investment Account you must provide an opening deposit of $1,000.
  • Once your account is opened the only restriction is that subsequent deposits must be $100 or more.

Your estimated account balance and transaction history can be checked via your ANZ Internet Banking page or by calling ANZ Online Investment team on 1300 789 223, 8.00am to 8.00pm (AEST) Monday to Friday.

The unit price represents the estimated dollar value of one investment unit.

  • As the unit price is based on the closing market price from the previous day, it can only provide an estimate and may not represent the current value of your investment.

No. You are investing in a fund that is linked to the performance of the companies that comprise the S&P/ASX200 Index. This investment does not entitle you to beneficial ownership of the underlying shares.

No. Once the money you have deposited in your ANZ Online Investment Account is invested it is no longer held on deposit by ANZ.

  • As a result, it is not covered by the Federal Government guarantee or depositor protection under the Banking Act 1959.

Deposits can be made to your ANZ Online Investment account in the following ways:

  • transfer funds from any ANZ account by using ANZ Internet Banking
  • by arranging an automatic deposit
  • in person at any ANZ branch
  • by arranging electronic credit via another bank or financial institution
  • by using another bank or financial institution's Internet Banking
  • in person over the counter at another bank.  

Deposits received by ANZ prior to 12.45pm (AEST) on a full share market trading day are generally processed that day and reflected in your account on the following day.

Once the money is deposited in your account and is invested, it is no longer held on deposit by ANZ.

  • As a result, the ANZ Online Investment Account is not covered by the Federal Government guarantee or depositor protection under the Banking Act 1959.

Withdrawals can only be made via ANZ Internet Banking as a transfer to your nominated ANZ account.

  • Withdrawal requests received by ANZ prior to 12.45pm (AEST) on a full share market trading day are generally processed that day, with the proceeds of sale being made available in your nominated ANZ account the following day.
  • Deposits to or withdrawals from the ANZ Online Investment Account that are submitted prior to 12.45pm (AEST) on a full share-market trading day are generally processed that day and reflected in your account on the following trading day.
  • After 12.45pm (AEST), or at any time on a weekend, public holiday or a partial trading day, such deposits or withdrawals are generally processed on the next trading day and reflected in your account on the next trading day after the processing is done.

In the event that you wish to update your linked ANZ nominated account, you should contact ANZ Online Investment team on 1300 789 223, 8.00am to 8.00pm (AEST) Monday to Friday.

  • Please note that your nominated account must be a current ANZ cheque or saving account in your name.

In the event that you wish to close your account, you should contact ANZ Online Investment team on 1300 789 223, 8.00am to 8.00pm (AEST) Monday to Friday.

  • Please note, ANZ does not charge any fees for keeping your account open nor is there any minimum balance requirements.
