Additional information on the transfer to Retirement Portfolio Service

 

What’s happened?

On 13 April 2019 OnePath Custodians Pty Limited (OnePath Custodians) completed the internal transfer of your product from the OnePath MasterFund to the Retirement Portfolio Service (RPS) superannuation fund. OnePath Custodians approved the transfer as it was satisfied that it was in members’ best interests and members are provided with equivalent rights to benefits in RPS.

This change simplifies our superannuation business by reducing the number of superannuation funds we offer, and enabled the the sale of ANZ’s life insurance business (OnePath Life Limited) to Zurich Financial Services Australia Limited (Zurich) which occurred 31 May 2019.

ANZ sold its life insurance business to create a simpler business focused on becoming the best bank for its customers, while continuing to provide access to wealth solutions from specialist providers. The sale means that OnePath Life Limited (OnePath Life) is now owned by Zurich.

A reminder that the key features of your product remain the same, for example:

  • the brand and name of your product
  • fees and costs including any Adviser Service Fee arrangements
  • the current investment option/s and the underlying investments
  • your instructions to invest future contributions 
  • how you and your employer make contributions
  • any insurance cover you have through your super.

The sale of ANZ’s life insurance business to Zurich occurred on 31 May 2019. The sale means that OnePath Life is now owned by Zurich and OnePath Life remains the provider of your insurance. Your policy remains the same with no change to your cover or premium as a result of the sale to Zurich.

Super contribution instructions

Following the recent transfer of ANZ super products to the Retirement Portfolio Service superannuation fund, some employers have experienced issues when submitting superannuation contributions.

Employers may need to remove existing super fund details relating to the OnePath MasterFund and add new details for the Retirement Portfolio Service superannuation fund (RPS fund). This will involve reconfirming the Unique Superannuation Identifier (USI) for the employee’s product and providing the Australian Business Number (ABN) for the RPS fund.
