Even on our own, we’re still together

This Mardi Gras, we’re reminding LGBTIQ+ Australians that although we can’t all be together, the strength of the community is as powerful now as ever.

Watch the music video

This music video shines an intimate light on the tornado of shared emotions felt by so many in the community, not only during the past 12 months, but so often as they find their true selves.

Featuring members of the LGBTIQ+ community including ANZ staff, the video culminates in a creative expression of togetherness and connection, demonstrating the collective power and resilience of the LGBTIQ+ community.

Genuine support

In 2020 QLife reported a 31% increase in calls relating to feelings of isolation and loneliness compared to the previous year. So, we wanted to reach out and offer genuine support to the LGBTIQ+ community by donating $100,000 to QLife. This means an additional 2,250 hours of professional phone and web counselling can be provided in 2021 - so that no one feels alone.

Many of us might be feeling isolated at the moment, but remember, you’re a part of a strong community that’s always there for you, if you need. With 365-day support over both telephone and web chat, please follow these links if you’d like to talk to a professional.

ANZ Pride’s story

Many of our staff within ANZ Pride couldn’t make it to Mardi Gras this year.

Hear about our people’s experiences with isolation, and the power of the community in which they thrive.

ANZ Pride, proudly marching for 15 years

ANZ is Principal Partner of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and has been participating in Mardi Gras since 2007. Although not everyone can make it to Mardi Gras this year, representatives from ANZ Pride will be marching again in this year’s parade. Keep an eye out!

ANZ is proud to have an LGBTIQ+ network available to our employees since 2007 and be recognised as a leading employer for LGBTIQ+ inclusion. The aim of ANZ Pride is to be a voice, contact point and support mechanism for both LGBTIQ+ people and allies as well as to increase diversity, inclusion and respect through active engagement of our people.
