If you’ve added your eligible ANZ Visa Debit Card to Samsung Pay and don’t have the eftpos option, it is recommended you delete your Visa debit card from your devices and simply re-add your card again into the Wallet. When you add a Visa debit card to Samsung Pay that is associated with a chequing account and/or a savings account, the card will be defaulted to Visa for payments with Samsung Pay.

How to change default on your Samsung phone:

To change the payment network on your Samsung phone, open the Wallet app, tap on your Visa debit card, then choose the network.

There is no additional fee for using Samsung Pay.

Note: If you install or download the Samsung Pay app you may be subject to the relevant mobile data usage plan charges.

Managing

You can view up to 10 of your last transactions made with Samsung Pay in the Samsung Pay app for 30 days from the time of purchase. Simply tap on a registered ANZ card in the app to view your transactions.

For a full list of transactions made with your card log on to ANZ Internet Banking or download or open the ANZ App.

Note: You will need active internet connection to receive the notification when you make a transaction with Samsung Pay.

When opening Samsung Pay you can swipe left or right to select the card to pay with. The first card displayed is either the last card you added or the last card you used or viewed.

You can remove a card you have added to Samsung Pay on your device by selecting the card in the Samsung Pay app, selecting the 'More' icon on the top right hand corner, tapping 'Delete card', and then 'Delete.'

Note: Your ANZ cards will be removed from the Samsung Pay app on your Samsung device if you uninstall Samsung Pay or remove your Samsung account from your device, reset your device or use the Find My Mobile to wipe your device.

It’s not possible to block an additional cardholder from a purchase type, such as Samsung Pay, internet purchases or contactless.

You can request for an additional card to be stopped, which will prevent it being used for all transactions, including those through Samsung Pay.

Note: Ensure any additional cardholders do not share their Samsung Device Unlock PIN, password, pattern or let anyone else, including family members have their fingerprint or Iris scan registered to their device while their additional card is registered in Samsung Pay or leave their device unattended, as you will then be liable for transactions that are authorised in this way.

Once you have activated your ANZ reissued card, your Samsung Pay card list will automatically be updated with your new card details.

When you call ANZ to report your physical card as lost or stolen, we will block that physical card. This will automatically suspend your card in Samsung Pay. The app will automatically be updated with your new card details and available for use.

Merchants

If you accept contactless payments today, you’re likely to be able to accept Samsung Pay payments.

If you're not already accepting contactless payments, contact the ANZ Merchant Sales team on 1800 086 325 to find out more.

There are no additional fees to accept Samsung Pay.

Payments made using Samsung Pay in stores are card present transactions.

Instead of using a card number, Samsung Pay assigns a unique Device Account Number (Token). When a customer makes a purchase, this number, along with a transaction-specific code, is used to process the payment – meaning you will never see card details.

The last four digits of the Device Account Number will appear on customer receipts instead of the last four digits of the card number.

Refunds for Samsung Pay purchase are processed in a similar way to traditional refund.

Please note that it is important that refunds are processed on the same card as the original transaction.

You will need to obtain the Digital Card Number to find the purchase and process the return.

To see the last four or five digits of the Digital Card Number, ask the customer to go to Samsung Pay, select the card they purchased with, the Digital Card Number will be the 4 numbers displayed on the side of the card.
