ANZ Travel Card is available in 10 popular currencies:

  • Australian Dollars (AUD)
  • United States Dollars (USD)
  • Great British Pounds (GBP)
  • Euros (EUR)
  • New Zealand Dollars (NZD)
  • Canadian Dollars (CAD)
  • Hong Kong Dollars (HKD)
  • Singapore Dollars (SGD)
  • Thai Baht (THB)
  • Japanese Yen (JPY).

If you purchased your card at both your primary and secondary cards will have your name printed on the cards. ANZ Travel Cards purchased over the counter in an ANZ branch or ANZ Foreign Exchange Centre in Australia will not have your name printed on the card.

When you purchase an ANZ Travel Card, you get two cards: a primary card and a backup card, for added security. If you lose your primary card while you’re overseas, you can still access your money with your backup card which has a different PIN. The backup card should only be used in the event that your original card is lost, stolen or damaged. Please see ‘What happens if my card is lost or stolen?'

You must not provide either your primary or backup card to any other person for their use.

Your ANZ Travel Card is PIN protected (for ATM transactions and some purchases) and is not linked to your bank accounts. This means better protection for your money if your ANZ Travel Card is ever lost or stolen.

  • You're also issued with a backup card, which has a separate PIN from your primary card. That way, if your primary card is lost or stolen, you still have access to your money by using your backup card.

You can use the ANZ Travel Card all over the world, wherever Prepaid Visa cards are accepted, to make purchases and withdraw local money regardless of what currency is stored on your ANZ Travel Card. When you use a currency for a transaction that is not the same as a currency wallet opened on your card, the transaction will be converted to and debited from the AUD Wallet.  If there are insufficient funds in the AUD Wallet, then the remaining amount will be debited from other Store Value Currencies, based on the Stored Value Currency Orderdisclaimer. If the currency of the transaction is not a Stored Value Currency, an Unsupported Currency Feedisclaimer will be charged which is 4% of the transaction value.

  • If you have only loaded Australian Dollars on your card and you make a purchase in Fiji, the transaction will be converted from Fijian Dollars into Australian Dollars and debited from the Australian Dollars stored on your card. You will pay the Unsupported Currency Feedisclaimer of 4% of the transaction value.

An Electronic Transaction (including any applicable ATM fees) made in a currency that is not a Stored Value Currency will be converted to AUD by Visa in accordance with its rules using the wholesale market rate selected by Visa from a range of wholesale rates one day before Visa processes the Electronic Transaction. If there are insufficient funds in the AUD Stored Value then the remaining balance of the Electronic Transaction will be paid by debiting the Stored Value from the other Stored Value Currency or Stored Value Currencies according to the Stored Value Currency Order. Therefore you may be subject to a number of exchange rate conversions (depending on how many Stored Value Currencies are required to have their Value transferred to process the Transaction). The conversion rate used will be that which is notified on ANZ’s website at as being the rate at which ANZ buys Travel Cards in the relevant Stored Value Currency.
