The simple way to keep track of your money with ANZ SMS Alerts

We believe simple banking is better banking. That's why we introduced our range of alerts – to help you keep track of your money.

Overdrawn account alerts

Knowing that your account is overdrawn with our ANZ ATM or SMS alerts can help you manage your money and avoid overdrawn fees and interest. Find out more about overdrawing your account and our Informal Overdraft facility (PDF 120kB).

At ANZ ATMs

We'll let you know if a transaction at one of our ATMs would overdraw your ANZ deposit account. You can then decide if you'd like to go ahead with the transaction or not (please note if you have an ANZ Assured overdraft facility, we'll only let you know if your transaction exceeds the ANZ Assured overdraft facility limit).

SMS from ANZ

  • We'll also send you an SMS when you overdraw your personal everyday account by more than $50. We just need you to have given us your latest mobile number at one of our branches, through our internet or phone banking or when you applied for an account online.
  • Each time your account becomes overdrawn, we will send you an SMS alert the following business daydisclaimer.
  • To ensure you receive our SMS alert, check that ANZ has your latest mobile number by calling 13 13 14.

If you don't want to be alerted, just call the same number and let us know (or follow the prompts in the SMS alert).

ANZ does not charge for the overdrawn account alert service. Charges may be incurred by your mobile phone operator.

  

Temporary service interruptions may occur and is subject to mobile phone network availability. Overdrawn account alerts are sent on an ANZ business day which is defined as Monday to Friday excluding National public holidays. Overdrawn account alerts apply for personal accounts only (not available on business accounts).
