What are the benefits?
| Type of event | Nature of benefit |
|---|---|
| Involuntary unemployment | Double your minimum monthly repayment (4%) of the outstanding balance is paid, up to $10,000, if you are involuntarily unemployed. |
| Disability (through injury or illness) | Double your minimum monthly repayment (4%) of the outstanding balance is paid, up to $10,000, in the event of your disability through illness or injury. |
| Total and permanent disability | The outstanding balance up to $20,000 is paid, in the event of your total and permanent disability. |
| Critical illness | The outstanding balance up to $20,000 is paid, in the event of your diagnosis of a defined critical illness. |
| Death | The outstanding balance up to $20,000 is paid, in the event of your death. |
| Accidental death | The outstanding balance up to $20,000 is paid, plus an additional and equal amount to your estate, in the event of your accidental death. |
| Family trauma (additional benefit) | A lump sum benefit of $500 is paid if you are required to take leave from paid employment as a result of your spouse or dependent child being diagnosed with a critical illness. |
| Stolen card (additional benefit) | A lump sum cash benefit of $200 is paid if your card is reported as stolen and you report the incident to the police. |
