Leadership
We recruit and develop inspiring leaders who are committed to and demonstrate a very specific set of core leadership capabilities. Our approach is to provide support and opportunities to enable all staff to be leaders within their teams. We also proactively identify individuals with high-potential and provide them with leadership, coaching, mentoring and accelerated learning opportunities.

Some of the programs include:
  • Hiring Essentials workshop - This workshop equips managers responsible for hiring staff with the essential information they need to commence successfully hiring for ANZ. It covers ANZ's employment brand, essential aspects of effective recruiting, interviewing technique, understanding diversity principles in hiring, behavioural event interviewing skills, and providing appropriate feedback to candidates.

  • Management Essentials program - This program provides first time people managers with the essential knowledge and process information required to manage a team. It supports the transition from 'individual contributor' to manager and helps them become effective in their new role as quickly as possible.

  • Leadership Essentials program - This program provides new managers with a foundational leadership experience while exploring the concept of leadership, what it means at ANZ, and what the manager's commitment is in choosing the leadership journey at ANZ.

  • Business Leadership program - This program is for people who have recently been appointed to their first senior management role in ANZ.

  • Breakout Coaching Essentials - This program is for employees responsible for motivating and developing others. It shows how to improve performance, reach potential and overcome barriers. Attendees are given practical coaching tools and techniques to improve decision-making, dealing with conflict and managing change.

  • ANZ Talent Radar - The ANZ Talent Radar supports the accelerated development and progression of our high potential employees. Participants benefit from greater exposure to senior leaders, frequent networking opportunities outside their own business unit and specialist area, and a range of world-class development opportunities in line with their individual development plans.

  • Breakout - ANZ encourages and develops leadership qualities and experiences through our Breakout transformation program for all of our people. A holistic approach is taken to building a 'Breakout' culture at ANZ, which focuses on personal transformation that encourages change from the inside out.
