    Life balance

Some ANZ employees arrange their hours in non-traditional ways to better suit their professional and personal needs, and others find balance by taking up flexible working arrangements including:

    • Career extension – ANZ was the first Australian company to introduce guaranteed part-time work for employees aged 55 and over. This policy offer eligible employees the opportunity to change pace, by taking a gradual approach to retirement or pursuing a new challenge by making a career switch.
    • Lifestyle leave – our people can tailor their salary over the year to provide an additional four weeks leave for any purpose.
    • Flexible long service leave – the option to take double long service leave at half pay.
    • Career breaks – extended unpaid leave to pursue personal development or family commitments.
    • Job sharing - two employees voluntarily sharing one position, working to an agreed schedule on a regular, ongoing basis. Employees who job share receive the same entitlements as full-timers, pro-rata to the number of hours worked.
    • Telecommuting – using technology to work from home instead of commuting daily between home and work.
    • Part-time work child care policy – full-time employees who are pregnant or caring for a child under the age of five are eligible to apply for part-time work under these provisions. They retain the right to return to a full-time role after expiry of the part-time work childcare period. Alternatively, employees may choose to work part-time on a permanent basis where a suitable opportunity exists.
