Account Opening and Customer Identification Requirements
Prior to the opening of a new account ANZ Bank (Vanuatu) Limited requires the following documentary and identification requirements to be met.

For Personal accounts the identification documents provided must meet ANZ minimum requirements (100 points). In addition, proof of residential address must be provided to the Bank. Examples of acceptable evidence of residential address may include Drivers licence, utility bill or bank statements.
For Business Accounts the following minimum identification criteria must be met:
  • Certificate of Incorporation and
  • Memorandum and Articles of Association, or an equivalent document such as a partnership agreement and
  • Minutes of directors meeting authorising the opening of the account with ANZ and
  • Opinion from existing bankers (if any) and
  • All account signatories,directors,share holders and beneficial owners must satisfy the Personal Account identification criteria and provide evidence of their residential address as detailed above
Originals of all documents must be sighted.
Please Note
If the account is not being opened in person (i.e. by mail) copies are acceptable provided they have been certified as being true copies by either an ANZ point offshore (bearing an ANZ stamp), or by a "Justice of the Peace" or "Commissioner of Oaths". The person certifying the documents must provide their qualification and full contact details to ANZ with the account opening documents. ANZ at its discretion may conduct further due diligence on all documents submitted as required by law and ANZ policy. If you are in a country where the above are not readily available to certify documents, then please contact us to determine a suitable means of having your documents authenticated.
